Job summary

State of Michigan, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, seeks a supervisory professional to lead the grants implementation team handling federal and state funding. The role oversees grant administration from entry to expenditure, ensures compliance, and drives process improvements across all grant cycles.

You will coordinate with grantees statewide, monitor performance, and serve as the main contact for grant recipients.

Qualifications

• Education level typically acquired through completion of high school AND two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in any major with at least four years of professional experience, including two years at the experienced (P11) or one year at the advanced (12) level.
• Foreign credentials must be evaluated or converted to U.S. equivalents unless CHEA-recognized.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to implement and manage LEO grants, including federal and state funding workflows.
• Oversee grant administration, monitoring, and processing from receipt to expenditure and reporting.
• Serve as the main point-of-contact for grantees statewide and ensure program compliance.
• Develop procedural improvements to grant systems and enhance efficiency.
