Job summary

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, CO seeks a Research and Grants Specialist to oversee high‑level post‑award grant operations, coordinate with division administrators, principal investigators, and external sponsors, and ensure accurate contracting and reporting for grants and clinical trials.

You will create and monitor financial reports, review expenditures for policy and sponsor compliance, and support RPPR submissions and post‑award tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, or closely related field.
• Professional-level experience in sponsored project administration (Entry Level: ≥1 year; Intermediate Level: ≥1 year; Senior Level: ≥2 years).
• For senior level, education and relevant experience may be substituted year-for-year.

Responsibilities

• Create, monitor, and maintain monthly financial reports for all PIs with research funding and for division leadership.
• Ensure award set-up accurately reflects terms and conditions, and request rebudgeting from OGC or sponsors when required.
• Prepare documentation for OGC to draft subcontracts; monitor contract execution, account set-up, invoicing, and compliance.
• Review expenditures to ensure adherence to institutional policies, federal, state, and sponsor regulations.
• Complete journal entries and payroll expense transfers on grant accounts.
• Work with the Pre‑Award Coordinator or Pre‑Award Shared Services to process progress reports; assist PIs with RPPR submissions as required by sponsors.
• Provide post‑award services for clinical trials.
