Job summary

MASS MoCA, North Adams, seeks a Manager of Institutional Giving to grow its institutional fundraising program, supporting a $10M operating goal and a $5M capital goal. You will manage a portfolio of funders, lead proposals, budgets, and reports, and partner with staff to develop donor engagement opportunities.

The role requires strong writing, grant experience, and ability to coordinate across departments. It includes budgeting, payments, and financial reporting within a dynamic museum

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in institutional fundraising in a nonprofit environment.
• Exceptional writing and verbal skills with grant proposal writing and editing abilities.
• Interest in front-facing funder cultivation and outreach.
• Ability to adapt writing styles to audiences and gather information through interviews and research.
• Ability to nurture ongoing funder relationships and communicate with diverse internal stakeholders.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage a robust grants calendar.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate funders and prospects; coordinate proposals and reports.
• Lead donor analysis reporting and strategy discussions with staff
• Prospect new foundation funding opportunities and coordinate program designs.
• Coordinate with events and program staff for donor cultivation events.
• Support the director and program teams as needed and assist with department tools and income projections.
