Job summary

The Montrose Center is seeking a Development Grants Coordinator to manage private grants from foundations and corporations. You will oversee the grants portfolio, annual calendar, prospect research, and the preparation of proposals, supporting documents, testimonials and reports to advance the organization's mission in Houston.

Work closely with program staff and the finance team to ensure accurate budgets, timely submissions, and strong donor engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Administration, Public Health or related field.
• Three years of professional experience in fundraising, grants or technical writing preferred.
• Access to reliable transportation, a current Texas Driver's License, and auto insurance required.
• Salesforce or donor CRM experience preferred.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills are mandatory. An ability to work under short deadlines and multi-task is essential.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, prepare and submit all exploratory foundation and corporate grants for the Center.
• Manage the Development grants calendar for timely submissions and reporting.
• Identify corporate and foundation grant prospects under the strategy of the Chief Development Officer.
• Collaborate with program staff for accuracy on program descriptions, reporting, key performance metrics and grant deadlines.
• Prepare grant budgets with approval from leadership and finance to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Represent the Montrose Center as support staff for fundraising or stewardship events, and community networking events as needed.
• Perform other duties as required to support the effective operation of the department and organization.
