Montrose Center seeks a Development Grants Coordinator to manage private grants from foundations and corporations. You will oversee the grants calendar, research prospects, draft and submit proposals, assemble supporting documents and reports, and guide philanthropy strategies aligned with the Center’s mission.

Collaboration with program and finance teams ensures accurate budgets, timely submissions, and strong donor engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, marketing, communications, business, public administration, public health or a relevant field.
  • Three years of professional fundraising, grants or technical writing experience preferred.
  • Access to reliable transportation, Texas driver’s license and auto insurance required.
  • Salesforce or donor database CRM experience preferred.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills are mandatory and deadlines are tight.

  • Research, write, prepare and submit exploratory foundation and corporate grants.
  • Manage the Development grants calendar for timely submissions and reporting.
  • Identify corporate and foundation grant prospects under the Chief Development Officer’s strategy.
  • Collaborate with program staff for accurate program descriptions, reporting and metrics.
  • Prepare grant budgets with approval from leadership and finance.
  • Represent the Montrose Center at fundraising or stewardship events as needed.
  • Perform other duties to support department and organization operations.

Job description

Position Summary

The Development Grants Coordinator is responsible for managing the organization’s private grants from philanthropic foundations and corporations. This officer will oversee all private grants for the Development team, including managing the annual grants calendar, researching grant prospects, writing and submitting proposals, preparing supportive documentation, testimonials and reports, and overseeing philanthropy strategies to support the Montrose Center’s mission. This role works closely with program staff and finance team to ensure accurate budgets, timely submissions and strong donor engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Research, write, prepare and submit all exploratory foundation and corporate grants for the Center.
  2. Manage the Development grants calendar for timely submissions and reporting.
  3. Identify corporate and foundation grant prospects under the strategy of the Chief Development Officer.
  4. Collaborate with program staff for accuracy on program descriptions, reporting, key performance metrics and grant deadlines.
  5. Prepare grant budgets with approval from leadership and finance to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  6. Represent the Montrose Center as support staff for fundraising or stewardship events, and community networking events as needed.
  7. Perform other duties as required -
    to support the effective operation of the department and organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree required in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Administration, Public Health or relevant field.
  2. Three years of professional experience in fundraising, grants or technical writing preferred.
  3. Access to reliable transportation, a current Texas Driver’s License, and auto insurance required.
  4. Salesforce or donor database CRM experience preferred.
  5. Exceptional written and oral communication skills are mandatory. An ability to work under short deadlines and multi-task is essential.
