Job summary

The South Dakota Department of Health - Division of Finance & Operations seeks a Financial Grant Specialist to lead grant activities, develop federal applications, and monitor spending with an eye on budgets and compliance. You will collaborate on contracts, RFPs, and subrecipient monitoring to ensure proper fiduciary controls.

Qualified candidates typically hold a Bachelor's in Business/Finance and have GAAP knowledge, policy analysis skills, and strong Excel proficiency for financial reporting

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
Experience with federal grant guidance and grant administration.
Strong Excel, Word, and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

Lead grants for the Department of Health, developing federal grant applications.
Monitor grant spending, compare budget versus actuals, and provide projections.
Co-lead subrecipient monitoring and ensure regulatory compliance.
