Job summary

South Dakota Department of Health seeks a Financial Grant Specialist to support programs with cost-effective budgeting, grant management, and compliance. You will lead federal grant applications, monitor spending, and prepare projections, while co-leading subrecipient monitoring across the department.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel, Word, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP, standards, and practices.
• Experience with policy research, planning, and grant administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and consultation to department program staff.
• Lead federal grant applications and monitor grant spending.
• Complete spending projections and budgeting for grants and DOH contracts.
• Co-lead subrecipient monitoring and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Research funding opportunities and make management recommendations.
