The Nevada Arts Council in Reno/Sparks is seeking an Accountant 1 to perform a range of accounting duties under supervision. The role focuses on managing accounts payable, processing invoices, reimbursements, and billing claims, as well as entering data in the agency's expenditure tracking system and reconciling financial records.

The position also involves assisting with budget preparation, grant reporting, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

Formación

• Graduation from high school with two years of financial records maintenance experience or an equivalent combination.
• Experience includes controlling accounts payable/receivable, preparing financial reports for internal management use, and reconciling complex accounts.
• Prior experience as Accounting Assistant III/IV in Nevada State service or equivalent is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manage accounts payable by processing vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and billing claims.
• Prepare and process purchase documents for direct purchases and those through State Purchasing. Enter data in expenditure tracking system and reconcile records.
• Review and process travel requests and travel claims with accuracy and compliance.
• Assist management in preparation of complex budgets, including narratives and general ledger analysis for proposed adjustments.
• Provide fiscal management and auditing of federal or other grant monies, monitor expenditures for compliance with grant specs.
• May supervise assigned clerical staff and develop accounting policies and procedures.
