Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College, Valparaiso campus, is seeking a Grant Accountant to manage all financial activity related to grants and awards across Valparaiso and nearby campuses. The role reports to the Grant Accounting Manager and involves collaboration with the Ivy Tech Foundation and project directors.

The position requires an associate degree in accounting with 1–3 years of accounting experience, MS Office proficiency, and willingness to travel regionally.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience required.
• Willingness to travel within service area and to Indianapolis for statewide meetings/training.
• Experience with grant budgets, accounting and reporting preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office; Workday preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of grant budgets for assigned campuses and Ivy Tech Foundation under the Grant Accounting Manager.
• Review grant proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare pre-award grant forms following college policy.
• Track grant submissions and follow up on award status.
• Monitor grant award and gift fund balances and prepare accounting adjustments as needed.
• Prepare monthly budget reports on grant activity.
