Job summary

Brown University in Providence is seeking a Proposal Coordinator to provide administrative pre-award services to the Division of Biology and Medicine investigators across a portfolio of federal, state, industry and foundation-funded grants and contracts.

The role guides investigators through the application process to ensure proposals are high-quality, submitted on schedule, and compliant with federal, state and institutional regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 2-4 years of related experience, preferably in research administration, are required.
• Experience with proposal preparation with federal and non-federal grants is desired.
• Experience using Huron grants management systems (or similar) is preferred.
• Familiarity with eRA Commons, Research.gov, Grants.gov and ProposalCentral is preferred.
• Experience working with grants in a higher education or non-profit institution is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative pre-award services to Division of Biology and Medicine investigators across a portfolio of federal, state, industry and foundation-funded grants and contracts.
• Guide investigators through the application process to ensure proposals are high-quality, submitted on schedule, and adhere to regulations, policies and procedures.
• Support researchers in navigating the complex regulatory and fiscal environment surrounding grant funding.
