Job summary

BakerRipley is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to manage the general ledger for Workforce Solutions grant funding, ensuring GAAP and Uniform Guidance compliance. The role supports monthly closes, billing, reconciliations, and audits while maintaining strong internal controls.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of nonprofit/government accounting experience, with fund accounting and multi-fund reporting expertise. Collaboration with program teams and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; 3–5 years of accounting experience in nonprofit/government/grant environments.
• Fund accounting and multi-fund grant financial reporting experience.
• Experience with public-sector or Workforce Solutions programs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for all funding streams in compliance with GAAP and Uniform Guidance.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, allocations, and reclassifications.
• Perform monthly close and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Support monthly contract billing reports and reconciliation to program data.
• Track expenditures, obligations, and accruals by funding source and cost classification.
• Ensure costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable, and well-documented.
• Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and spend-down monitoring.
• Review vendor payments and related financial transactions for accuracy.
• Reconcile FAPO payment systems to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and supporting schedules.
• Assist with reports required by stakeholders and audits.
• Support internal control improvements and process enhancements.
• Communicate financial questions or clarifications with staff, vendors, and auditors.
• Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned.
