Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP seeks a Senior to join our Compliance Advisory team. You will provide advisory services to governmental, tribal, private, and not-for-profit organizations, focusing on grant management, compliance, internal controls, and policy development.

You will collaborate with clients and team members to assess needs, identify improvements, and develop practical solutions that strengthen processes and operations. Travel up to ~20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field; Master’s in Accounting, MBA, or MPA preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience; public accounting or professional services experience strongly preferred
• Experience serving governmental, tribal, and/or not-for-profit organizations preferred
• Experience with grant management and compliance activities, internal control reviews or assessments, and/or internal audit
• Experience with Single Audits and federally funded programs preferred
• CPA, CIA, CGMA, CFE, or other relevant professional designation preferred
• Familiarity with GAGAS/Yellow Book, Uniform Guidance, and IIA standards preferred
• Understanding of financial, compliance, and operational environments of governmental and not-for-profit organizations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and client deliverables
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately 20%

Responsibilities

• Support project planning and execute grant compliance monitoring activities, including development of monitoring programs and review of subrecipient performance
• Perform and lead grant compliance reviews, evaluate documentation, and develop findings and recommendations
• Perform and lead internal control reviews, internal audits, and operational assessments
• Develop and enhance policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls
• Conduct interviews, review documentation, perform analyses, and prepare client deliverables
• Collaborate with clients to understand current accounting and business practices, identify improvements
• Communicate project status and results to engagement team and client stakeholders
• Provide guidance to junior team members to support timely delivery
