Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a detail-oriented finance professional to manage post-award activities for grants and clinical trials within SPFS. You will handle award setup, invoicing, month-end close, reporting, and project closeout, ensuring GAAP compliance and sponsor requirements.

Ideal candidates have a BA/BS in accounting or finance and proven experience in healthcare or research finance, with strong Excel and financial systems skills and the ability to work independently under tight

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience/education as determined by the company.
Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting and financial analysis with ability to interpret fiscal regulations (preferred in clinical research/healthcare).
Ability to assess, research and resolve complex financial/compliance issues with sound judgment.
Deep understanding of financial management in a clinical trial setting, expertise in research accounting, and strong compliance/auditing background.

Responsibilities

Compliance Management: maintain compliance with grant/contract/clinical trial terms and sponsor guidelines.
Invoicing, Accounts Receivable, and Cash Management: invoice, follow up on payments, ensure cash is recorded.
Month-end Close: prepare journal entries and close processes aligned with GAAP and sponsor rules.
Reporting: prepare financial reports, meet deadlines, and translate financials for sponsor forms.
Project Closeout: complete closeout docs, ensure cost share, remove unallowables, close cost centers.
Audit: support auditors with documentation and internal controls.
