Job summary

Lee Hecht Harrison Nederland B.V. is seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join our finance team in Greensboro/Winston-Salem area.

This role ensures financial integrity and compliance of grant-funded programs supporting our mission and community impact. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of nonprofit accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills to prepare reports for diverse funding sources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience managing grants, fund accounting, or government-funded programs.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software and nonprofit financial systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage grant budgets, expenditures, and funding allocations
  • Prepare grant-related financial reports for federal, state, local, and private funding sources
  • Ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirements
  • Reconcile grant activity and maintain accurate supporting documentation
  • Partner with program managers to review budgets, spending trends, and funding utilization
  • Track restricted and unrestricted funding in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for grant-funded programs
  • Support annual audits and provide required documentation related to grants and funding sources
  • Review reimbursement requests and prepare drawdowns as needed
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting best practices

Pay Details: $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
