Job summary

Clinton Hill Community Action in Newark, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial health and day-to-day accounting operations. You will work closely with the Director of Finance, program and development teams, funders, external accountants, and leadership.

Responsibilities include grant accounting, general ledger close, reconciliations, financial reporting, budget-to-actual analysis, and audit support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 4–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with grant/fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

This full-time position plays an important role in supporting the financial health and day-to-day accounting operations of our nonprofit community development organization. The Senior Accountant will work closely with our Director of Finance, program and development teams, funders, external accountants, and organizational leadership.

What we're looking for:

Salary:

$70,000–$90,000 annually
