Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Missouri is seeking a Facilities Operator to assist in implementing work schedules, safety programs and grain handling. You will support the facility manager in logistics, inventory control and record keeping while ensuring compliance with environmental and safety policies.

The role requires ability to work independently and with a team, lift up to 50 lbs, and adapt to fast-paced conditions during harvest.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to understand and comply with all safety policies and practices.
Verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills.
Effective communication with grain customers.
Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Weigh and grade inbound and outbound grain; prepare scale receipts and enter deliveries.
Operate loading/unloading equipment to ship or receive grain products.
Inspect grain facilities daily to ensure equipment maintains proper condition.
Help facility manager schedule logistics for inbound and outbound grain.
Maintain inventories and grain movements to maximize profitability.
Identify problems or improvements and work with the manager to find solutions.
Deal proficiently with customers on a daily basis.
Assist in implementing safety programs as set forth by SFD.
Comply with environmental laws and report issues to supervisor.
Review the company's emergency notification process at the work site.
