Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. seeks a grain elevator operator to tend and oversee all areas of the elevator and office, ensuring quality, productivity and safety standards. You will support customer service to farmers and commercial clients while following SG procedures.

Responsibilities include operating the Smartsoft system, grading grain, coordinating with SG staff, and maintaining inventories. Must be able to work extended weekday and weekend hours and lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Grain experience preferred.
• Able to understand and comply with safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate Smartsoft program and enter load information.
• Coordinate with SG procurement and buyers on grain contracts.
• Grade grain and manage grading procedures.
• Load/unload grain with trucks and farmers.
• Operate loading/unloading equipment for grain shipments.
• Inspect facilities daily for equipment condition.
