Job summary

Smithfield Foods in North Carolina is seeking a skilled elevator operator to tend, operate and oversee all areas of the grain elevator and related offices, ensuring quality, productivity and safety.

You will work with SG procurement and customers, manage grain grading, loading/unloading, inventory and daily equipment checks, while maintaining excellent customer service to farmers and commercial partners. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Grain experience preferred.
• Able to understand and follow safety policies.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Good interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Able to work weekends during harvest.

Responsibilities

• Operate Smartsoft and enter load information.
• Grade grain and manage grading procedures.
• Load/unload grain and coordinate with farmers.
• Manage inventories and grain movements.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Provide high level of customer service to farmers and customers.
