Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a hands-on grain elevator operator to tend, operate, and oversee all areas of the elevator and office, ensuring quality, productivity, and safety in daily grain handling. The role focuses on servicing farmers and commercial customers while maintaining Smithfield’s standards.

Ideal candidates will have grain experience, strong safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Grain experience preferred.
• Must understand and comply with safety policies and practices.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Smartsoft program and enter all necessary information per load.
• Coordinate with Smithfield Grain procurement and buyers on grain contracts.
• Grade grain and manage grading procedures.
• Load and unload grain with trucks and farmers.
• Maintain inventories and assist in scheduling logistics.
