Job summary

Bartlett Co. is hiring a Grain Elevator Operator for the Scott City, KS area. The role covers grain receiving, storage, drying, blending, and loading, plus unloading liquid fertilizer and keeping facilities clean and safe.

The position requires reading and following written and verbal instructions in English, with overtime and weekend availability. Travel to Healy, KS and Towner, CO may be needed for train loading and related tasks.

Responsibilities

The Basics

Location: Scott City, KS

Compensation: $20/hr and up

Days/Hours: This job will be 1st shift. Usual hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday, with some OT, including weekends.

Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs

Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc; liquid bulk fertilizer

What you'll be doing:

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; unloading liquid fertilizer from railcars and loading the same into truck tanker trailers; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members. Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• Able to travel to Healy KS and Towner CO to assist with train loading and other projects, as needed

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• For safety reasons, must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check
