Job summary

United Grain Corporation seeks a Grain Elevator Assistant Manager I to coordinate day-to-day grain handling operations at the elevator. Under limited supervision, the EAM will assist the Manager in supervising elevator employees and ensuring high-quality products at the elevator and satellite facilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; a four-year degree is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience managing elevator equipment and operations preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license to drive company vehicles.
• Experience supervising and providing leadership to team members preferred.
• Maintenance experience with mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and grain software such as Agris and One Weigh.
• Proven interpersonal skills; team-oriented within the facility and company.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and oral instructions and memos.
• Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, supervisors, Producers and Merchandising staff daily.
• Must be able to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs job duties in a safe manner in compliance with safety programs and procedures.
• Maintains work areas and facilities properly.
• Provides courteous and responsive customer service to all who enter the Elevator.
• Demonstrates teamwork and promotes respect for others.
• Delegates and provides oversight to crew in coordination with Elevator Manager.
• May conduct regular safety meetings and ensure safety processes/regulations are followed.
• Assists with grain merchandising for designated location, reporting and collaborating with Merchandising team.
• Receives commodities and checks quality to meet standards.
• Stores commodities properly and exercises inventory control.
• Observes machinery operation to detect malfunctions and leads repairs; ensures maintenance plans are followed.
• Recommends improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and safety.
• Ensures production records are accurate and maintained.
• Other duties as assigned.
