Job summary

MKC seeks an experienced Elevator Operations Manager to direct all aspects of elevator operations, maintenance, and grain quality control. You will supervise full and part-time staff, assist with agronomy orders, and ensure safety compliance across the facility.

Qualifications

• This role requires proven management experience and ability to supervise staff.
• Operational knowledge of all elevator machinery and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Knowledge of grain properties and seed, fertilizer, and chemical products.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with computer data entry and record keeping.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
• Must obtain and retain a class 7B grain fumigation license.
• CDL-A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical and regulatory information.
• Strong written and verbal reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and ship grain efficiently with available staff.
• Maintain high quality grain during storage and fumigate per safety guidelines.
• Blend grains to maximize grade and price for customers.
• Provide grain drying services and report grades for accurate charges.
• Sample shipments, record grades, and report to office.
• Ensure OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations are followed; lead monthly safety trainings.
• Maintain all grain handling equipment and schedule major repairs with location manager.
• Supervise all full-time and part-time employees and conduct performance appraisals.
• Assist agronomy with fertilizer orders, loading, tendering, and field scouting.
• Manage bulk seed handling and support seed sales efforts.
• Promote teamwork and a positive cooperative image.
• Greet customers, handle loading/unloading, and resolve issues with customers and staff.
• Attend product, merchandising, and cooperative meetings to improve skills and profitability.
• Bill accurately and communicate delivery details; enforce credit policy.
