Job summary

Brown University is seeking an administrator to manage all administrative aspects of the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Classics and the Department of Comparative Literature. You will work with DGS, DUS, Chairs, and other offices to ensure programs run smoothly and in compliance with university policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with graduate recruitment and orientation, tracking student progress, serving as the first point of contact for student inquiries,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 to 5 years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience coordinating higher education graduate programs preferred.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all administrative aspects of undergraduate and graduate programs for the Department of Classics and the Department of Comparative Literature.
  • Assist with graduate student recruitment and orientation.
  • Track graduate and undergraduate student progress and be the first point of contact for student inquiries.
  • Ensure students and faculty are fully supported.
  • Provide backup support for other staff members when needed.
