Job summary

This role advises students and faculty on a wide range of academic and operational issues, including degree progress, visa matters, and student employment, while interfacing with registrar, financial aid, and graduate divisions.

The position supports course scheduling, budgeting for student programs, ASE appointments, and coordination of orientation, commencements, and career information

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
• Knowledge of University-specific computer applications and campus procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills at multiple organizational levels.
• Multicultural competencies and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Knowledge of U.S. visa and immigration procedures for international students/scholars.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and faculty on school and university policies and degree progress.
• Provide guidance on visa, immigration, and employment eligibility issues.
• Interpret policies and advise on student conduct, grievances, and discrimination matters.
• Coordinate official course scheduling, enrollment, and room assignments.
• Assist with course development, curriculum revisions, and approvals with campus offices.
• Oversee student outreach, events, and recruitment activities.
• Assist with travel courses and graduate program administration.
