Job summary

University of California, Berkeley's School of Information seeks an Assistant Director of Student Affairs to advise and support graduate students across the MIMS, MIDS, and MICS programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
• Extensive familiarity with UC Berkeley systems (Campus Solutions, CMS, GLOW, CalAnswers, bConnected).
• Proficiency with Excel and data management.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and collaborate with student government.

Responsibilities

• Reviews student performance and provides advice on academic progress and degree requirements.
• Advises faculty and staff on policies for degree/program completion.
• Identifies progression issues and recommends interventions; interprets campus policies.
• Lead planning of school-wide events (New Student Orientation, Final Project Showcase, Commencement).
• Manage fellowship disbursement and internal applications.
• Mentor junior staff on policy issues.
• Collaborate with student government and IMSA to represent student perspectives.
• Develop Degree Assessment plans for MIMS degree program.
