Job Opportunity: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at UPMC Williamsport

This position is eligible for a generous sign-on bonus! Whether you’re a recent Graduate Nurse or an experienced LPN, now is your moment to find your place at UPMC.

  • New graduates (0 to less than 1 year experience) will receive a one-time $10,000 bonus for a two-year commitment.
  • Experienced LPNs (1 or more years’ experience) will receive a one-time $12,500 bonus for a two-year commitment.
Shifts/Hours

Our RNs work a rotating 12-hour schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

Qualifications

Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role, or have the ability to start with TPP and obtain licensure within 6 months of beginning the position. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on their experience and education.

Purpose

Act as a member of the healthcare team by exercising sound nursing judgment, providing care and IV therapy following UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines, policies, and State Board Regulations. The LPN participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, and must take nurse assignments at the top of their license in settings such as med/surg/tele or Emergency Department.

Responsibilities
  • Exercise sound nursing judgment, participate in care planning, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
  • Seek guidance when patient needs exceed scope or knowledge, or if patient condition deteriorates.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and practice guidelines, including IVs and Relationship Based Care.
  • Create a healing environment, develop daily goals and care plans, and communicate patient conditions clearly.
  • Support patient safety, quality, and satisfaction initiatives, build caring relationships, and provide patient and family education.
  • Support the orientation and development of new staff, seek feedback, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop professional relationships, demonstrate cultural competence, and maintain safety and work-life balance.
