Job Opening: Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at UPMC Williamsport

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse for our 4 East Adult Med/Surg unit.

About 4 East: An 11-bed Adult Med/Surg unit operating hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Position Details: Full-Time (36 hours/week), day shifts with rotation, every other weekend and holiday.

This position offers a competitive sign-on bonus:
- New graduates (0-1 year experience): $10,000 for a two-year commitment.
- Experienced LPNs (1+ years): $12,500 for a two-year commitment.

Purpose:

Provide patient care, exercise sound nursing judgment, and follow UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and state regulations. Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed provider. Assignments are within the scope of an LPN in med/surg, tele, or emergency settings.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform nursing duties within the scope of practice, communicate with the healthcare team, and seek guidance when patient needs exceed your scope or skills.
  • Implement new or unfamiliar nursing practices under supervision, follow policies and guidelines, and create a healing environment through Relationship-Based Care.
  • Develop daily goals and care plans, communicate patient conditions, document comprehensively, and promote team communication.
  • Enhance patient safety and satisfaction, build healing relationships, participate in unit activities, and assist colleagues.
  • Provide patient and family education, support orientation of new staff, seek feedback, and engage in continuous professional development.
  • Identify opportunities for quality improvement, collaborate with the healthcare team, and maintain productive relationships.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity, uphold safety standards, and report hazards.
