UPMC Williamsport - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

UPMC Williamsport has an opening for a Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse in our Preadmission OP Lab department, primarily supporting the Endoscopy department. This position is scheduled for Days and does not require weekends or holidays.

Experienced LPNs (with 1+ years of experience) are eligible for a one-time $7,500 bonus with a two-year commitment. Final candidates will be placed within a career ladder level reflecting their education, experience, and manager discretion.

Purpose:

To act as a member of the healthcare team by exercising sound nursing judgment, providing care and IV therapy following UPMC LPN Practice Guidelines and State Board Regulations. The LPN participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or other licensed provider.

Responsibilities:
  • Exercise sound nursing judgment; participate in care planning, implementation, and evaluation; communicate with the healthcare team; seek guidance when patient needs exceed scope or knowledge; follow established policies and guidelines; perform IVs as trained; formulate care goals; communicate patient conditions; document comprehensively.
  • Promote patient safety, quality, and satisfaction; build caring relationships; participate in unit activities; provide patient and family education; support new staff development; seek feedback; participate in quality improvement; collaborate with the healthcare team and patients; maintain productive relationships; demonstrate cultural competence; balance work and personal life; report safety hazards.
