Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories’ RAMS Institute is seeking graduate engineers for an internship focused on structural mechanics research, including environments definitions, computational solid mechanics and structural dynamics. Interns will work under a staff mentor and collaborate with teams from across the United States.

Onsite work is required; interns are exposed to national-security related projects and have access to advanced computational resources.

Qualifications

• Earned bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or math field.
• Full-time graduate student in spring term or graduating in spring.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week in summer.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent and group research in structural mechanics.
• Work with mentor and RAMS team on national-impact projects.
• Engage in computational activities using world-class resources.
