Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories' Mission Tech internship offers graduate students in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science hands-on experience on real mission-related deliverables with national security impact. Interns collaborate with ND&S teams on design, testing, data analysis, and full-stack development.

Selected candidates must be enrolled full-time in an accredited graduate program, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and be eligible for U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited science, engineering, or math graduate program.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 30 hours/week during the academic year and up to 40 hours/week in the summer.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test advanced materials as part of component science and production and present data to Sandia teams.
• Collaborate with design and assurance engineering to collect and analyze data from observation and experiments.
• Support advanced system development through code refresh and full-stack programming.
• Assist testing and optimization of circuits, chips, and other high-reliability electronics.
• Support telemetry development from concept to prototype to production transfer.
