Job summary

Highmark Health is offering the Summer 2027 Data Science Research & Development Graduate Internship. The program combines advanced data science, ML/AI, and software engineering to tackle healthcare challenges using clinical and insurance data.

Interns join a multidisciplinary team, work on four research tracks, and gain hands‑on experience in graph data, medical imaging, predictive modeling, and AI applications with mentorship and applied research exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; pursuit of graduate degree full or part‑time is preferred.
• Strong programming in Python.
• Experience with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational databases.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Under supervision, provide professional services aligned with business objectives.
• Participate in projects to develop professional skills and expertise.
• Plan and implement unit projects within area of expertise.
• Conduct research and reporting, including recommendations.
• Engage in related studies or enrichment programs as appropriate.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
