Job summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage business is hiring a Graduate Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service MV & LV power converters, automation systems and dynamic positioning controls at customer sites during ship construction.

The role requires extensive travel (about 85%), offshore readiness, and strong electrical engineering fundamentals. You will analyze issues, develop procedures, and support the North American growth while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college or university or Associate's Degree or related discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum 1 additional years of related industry experience.
• Strong Technical fundamentals on Electrical Power, Semiconductors and Digital Electronics.
• Must be physically fit to board vessels offshore.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission drive systems, power systems, automation systems or dynamic positioning systems at customer site locations during ship construction.
• Troubleshoot at site locations during port visits or at sea to diagnose problems and implement actions.
• Develop documentation to execute work such as commissioning and maintenance procedures and customer training.
• Identify sales opportunities for service agreements, spare parts, training, and upgrades.
• Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service.
• Assist in growth and direction of the North American business.
• Provide support to engineering teams on customer upgrade projects.
• Complete timely service reports and other admin requirements.
• Perform work on-board vessels per safety guidelines and travel as needed.
