HNTB is seeking a current or former intern for an Engineering Inspector position at our Charlotte, NC office. You will assist in inspection and documentation of construction work to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and contract provisions, working closely with project teams.

This internship emphasizes gaining hands-on field experience, learning to read drawings, perform basic calculations, and support RFIs and submittals under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field work tasks to ensure conformance to plans and specs.
• Observe on-site material testing and coordinate testing services.
• Read and interpret construction drawings to identify discrepancies.
• Review daily contractor reports and document project progress.
• Consult with the Resident Engineer to resolve issues and relay information.
• Utilize GPS/Rovers and industry tools to improve inspection accuracy.
