Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join the Environmental group. The role involves wetlands delineations, ecological field surveys, and water quality assessments, supporting remediation projects on contaminated sites.

You will work on a range of field-based tasks, map habitat types, and analyze chemical and biological data while complying with environmental regulations. The position offers a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration several days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• 0-2 years of experience conducting wetland delineations and ecological field studies.
• Familiarity with GIS applications software.

Responsibilities

• Wetland delineation activities in the field.
• Field surveys for rare, threatened or endangered flora and fauna and their habitats.
• Ecological assessments to classify and map habitat cover types and plant communities.
• Surface water quality monitoring and sampling.
• Fish, reptile and amphibian surveys.
• Managing and evaluating chemical and biological data.
• Evaluating environmental regulations and preparing work plans and reports.
