Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental group in the United States. You will engage in wetland delineations, ecological surveys, water quality assessments, and site characterization supporting remedial actions.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's or Master's in Environmental Science or related field, 0–2 years of field experience, and familiarity with GIS and data management. Travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Science or related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience conducting wetland delineations and ecological field studies.
  • Proficiency with managing and evaluating chemical and biological data using spreadsheets or database software.
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) applications software.

Responsibilities

  • Wetland delineation.
  • Field surveys for rare, threatened or endangered flora and fauna and their habitats.
  • Ecological assessments to classify and map habitat cover types and plant communities.
  • Surface water quality monitoring and sampling.
  • Sediment sampling.
  • Macroinvertebrate surveys / sampling.
  • Fish, reptile and amphibian surveys.
  • Managing and evaluating chemical and biological data.
  • Evaluating and understanding environmental regulations.
  • Preparing work plans, reports and other written communications.
