GHD in the United States seeks an Environmental Engineer to join our East team, working with senior staff to grow professionally while contributing to municipal solid waste and remediation projects.

We offer hybrid work in-office three days a week, with opportunities to travel for field assignments. Ideal candidates hold a Environmental or Civil Engineering degree with 0-2 years of experience and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering.
• 0-2 years of experience in the environmental industries.
• Prior experience with SPCC/SPR, SPDES, and/or report preparation is desired but not required.
• Basic understanding of AutoCAD is a benefit, advanced (design) experience is a plus.
• OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
• Ability and willingness to travel and perform field work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of field duties for municipal solid waste facilities and remediation sites, including inspection, maintenance, monitoring, and construction oversight.
• Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern following established procedures.
• Respond to environmental emergencies across the country to perform field tasks and monitor environmental impacts for clients.
• Assist in preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
• Support design calculations for solid waste management facilities and remediation systems.
