Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer II, Water/Wastewater EIT in TX to join our Water & Wastewater Utilities team. You will contribute to pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process design and construction with growth toward ownership opportunities.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams while developing design skills under Professional Engineer guidance. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree or equivalent.
• 1–4 years in water/wastewater projects or treatment design.
• Currently hold or can obtain Texas EIT within 2 years.
• FE exam passed or planned within 6 months.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWater is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Self-motivated with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Graduate Civil Engineer II, Water/Wastewater EIT

Halff is looking for a Graduate Civil Engineer II, Water/Wastewater EIT for our Water & Wastewater Utilities team in our Houston or The Woodlands, TX offices. The position will be for a General Civil Engineer interested in Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process design and construction. What you will do

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Support Water & Wastewater Utility projects including pipeline and facility modeling, planning, process, design, and construction
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water & Wastewater projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

What you will need

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree (preferably in Civil or Environmental Engineering).
• 1 - 4 years of experience in Water & Wastewater Utility projects and Water and/or Wastewater Treatment Design.
• Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Desired experience with Civil 3D, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, InfoWater.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self‑motivated and strong organization skills.
