Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking new graduates for a Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources in Houston, TX.

You will support water resources design and analysis, conduct hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and develop master drainage plans while collaborating with clients and internal teams. Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Environmental Eng degree (ABET) and have FE or plans to obtain it, plus familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, HEC-RAS/HMS and ArcGIS Pro.

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years in water resources/public works; new grads encouraged.
  • FE exam passed or plan to obtain within six months.
  • Texas EIT license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Positive attitude, self-directed yet a team player; focus on quality and integrity.

Graduate Civil Engineer - Water Resources

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team in Houston, TX. The candidate must be able to successfully work on projects and work closely with our internal and external clients, perform flood risk education and planning, flood infrastructure planning, and design for private and public stormwater infrastructure. Halff is seeking a skilled professional to work in a highly collaborative environment to create cost-effective, maintainable, and sustainable solutions for municipalities, governmental agencies and developers.

What you will do
  • Support project teams in the design and analysis of water resources design projects.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of master drainage plans.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents and reports.
  • Prepare and review plans, specification and bid documents.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are met.
What you will need
  • 0-3 years in water resources/public works. Resume projects should attempt to demonstrate experience in channels design, storm drain analysis and design, watershed modeling, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and master drainage planning. New grads are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam or plan on obtaining within six months of start date.
  • Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS Pro.
  • Familiarity with XP-SWMM, InfoWorks ICM.
