Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer I to assist in the design and production of construction plans for municipal projects such as roads, drainage, water and wastewater, parks, and site development.

You will work under a Professional Engineer mentor, gaining hands-on experience, collaborating with a team, and advancing through FE or EIT qualifications. Ideal candidates have a civil engineering degree, 0–3 years of relevant work, CAD/Civil 3D skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• 0-3 years of Local Infrastructure/Public Works or Land Development experience.
• Passed the FE exam or able to pass within 6 months of hire.
• Have a current Texas EIT license or the ability to obtain within 2 years of employment.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
• Knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment involved in the construction or repair of civil engineering related improvements.
• Able to balance multiple and frequently conflicting objectives and make good decisions.
• Technical experience in CAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and related software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a talented engineering team to solve design challenges and produce construction plans for local infrastructure projects.
• Use design software and drafting tools to display and communicate calculations, design layouts, and concepts to create construction plans.
• Draft reports and present plans to audiences with various backgrounds, translating technical information into accessible concepts.
• Estimates construction costs and quantities, perform site visits, and review contractor submittals.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
