Job description

Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant – Exercise and Sport Science. This position is located in River Forest, IL.

Candidates must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a Concordia University Chicago graduate program.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Provide assistance in the completion of fitness testing of Physical Education majors
• Provide mentoring on student projects
• Facilitate fitness labs for General Education fitness courses
• Lead discussion groups as assigned for General Education level courses
• Assist with evaluation of student's assignments
• Maintain weekly office hours
• Maintain orderliness of the Exercise and Sport Science Lab
• Provide support for Exercise and Sport Science course labs
• Administer exams for various courses as assigned
• Assist with faculty research projects
• Candidates must be committed to the mission and identity of Concordia University Chicago.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Comfort with public speaking and conveying instructions to individuals and groups.
• A basic understanding of standard fitness testing, i.e.; Fitness Gram.
• Knowledge and experience with fitness equipment and fitness assessment equipment.
• Lifting and carrying a minimum of 25 lbs.
• Bachelor's degree required
