Qualifications

• Meets Georgia certification requirements in appropriate field of education
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a PSC approved college or university
• Previous teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan for appropriate learning experiences based on the AKS curriculum
• Provide an atmosphere conducive to student development
• Demonstrate command of the subject being taught
• Develop and prioritize instructional objectives based on AKS
• Plan instruction to promote mastery of prerequisite skills
• Analyze student work and assessments to determine instructional needs
• Prepare written lesson plans to support AKS objectives
• Plan appropriate assessment of student learning
• Evaluate, select, and modify resources and activities
• Provide formative and summative assessments and feedback
• Organize content for presentation in logical sequence
• Follow research-based organizational plan for content
• Provide formative assessment data to guide instruction
• Maintain an orderly classroom environment
• Communicate objectives to students and relate to prior knowledge
• Utilize technology to plan, teach, and assess
• Incorporate inquiry-based problem solving
• Encourage student goal setting and self-assessment
• Maintain professional responsibilities and attendance
• Support substitute teachers with clear plans
• Engage with staff, students, families and community
