Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a qualified educator to plan lessons based on the district AKS curriculum and foster an environment that supports the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of students.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate command of the subject, align objectives with AKS, and design instructional plans that promote mastery. Strong collaboration, technology use, and effective communication with stakeholders are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in education from PSC-approved college or university required.
• Georgia certification requirements in field of education required.
• Experience preferred: previous teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan lessons based on the AKS curriculum and create a conducive learning environment.
• Demonstrate command of the subject and align objectives with AKS.
• Develop and prioritize instructional goals and prerequisites for student mastery.
• Plan instruction to promote mastery and assess student progress regularly.
• Select and adapt resources to match learner needs and reflect research-based methods.
• Provide clear objectives, connect content to prior knowledge, and maintain student engagement.
• Organize content logically, following recognized instructional sequences and activities.
• Use effective instructional strategies and provide formative and summative assessments.
• Offer collaborative learning opportunities and multiple guided practice opportunities.
• Teach discipline-specific vocabulary and use varied representations.
• Utilize technology to plan, teach, and assess student learning.
• Monitor behavior, communicate expectations, and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Maintain records and communicate results to students, parents, and staff.
• Prepare substitute plans and maintain regular attendance; perform other duties as assigned.
