Arnold Machinery in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks a Technology / GPS / Machine Control Specialist to install, calibrate, and troubleshoot 3D machine control systems on heavy equipment. You will train operators, manage 3D site models, and optimize site positioning technology to improve safety and efficiency.

Required 3+ years in heavy construction or surveying, with proficiency in GPS, 3D grading, and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, Topcon Magnet). Travel to job sites is frequent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in heavy construction, surveying, or with machine control systems.
• Proficiency with GPS, 3D grading systems, and CAD software (AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, Topcon Magnet).
• Deep understanding of construction equipment operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot electronic, hydraulic, and software issues in field conditions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support operators, project managers, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and maintain GPS/GNSS, UTS, and laser systems on heavy equipment.
• Upload 3D models, create surface data, and verify project designs in the field.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair machine control issues to minimize downtime.
• Train operators and site personnel on technology usage.
• Set up base stations and perform site calibrations for data accuracy.
• Monitor machine health and data analytics.
