Job summary

Carmichael Development is seeking an experienced Machine Control Specialist to support our grading and site‑development operations in North Georgia/Metro Atlanta. This field‑focused role is responsible for the setup, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field support of Leica/Trimble/Topcon GPS/GNSS machine‑control systems on heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Leica machine-control experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on GPS construction technology and heavy equipment knowledge.
• Ability to read civil site plans and coordinate with field teams.
• Willingness to travel between projects in Metro Atlanta/North Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, calibrate, and troubleshoot machine-control systems on GPS-equipped equipment.
• Maintain GPS base stations, rovers, radios, antennas, and displays.
• Load and manage project models, surfaces, alignments, utilities, and other design information used by field crews.
• Verify machine-control accuracy against project control and benchmarks.
• Provide rapid field support and train operators on Leica equipment.
• Maintain inventory of machine-control equipment and accessories.
• Keep firmware and project files current and transfer project data office-field.
