Job summary

We are looking for a GPS Grade Checker in Salt Lake City, UT to verify site grades and elevations against project specs. You will use GPS equipment to provide precise measurements for grading and excavation teams, collaborating with field staff to ensure accuracy and safety.

Ideal candidates have construction experience, GPS familiarity, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of experience in construction, grading, or surveying.
• Ability to read and interpret grading plans, blueprints, and elevations.
• Experience using GPS equipment and field software.
• Basic surveying concepts (benchmarks, control points, layout).
• Strong math skills for calculating grade, slope, and distance.
• Ability to operate GPS rovers, base stations, and data collectors.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Physically able to walk uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Responsibilities
