Job summary

Genesys seeks a Director of Sales for the East region to lead state and local government sales in the VA/SE area, driving cloud and AI-powered engagement adoption. You will shape regional strategy, build a high-performing sales organization, and partner with senior leaders to deliver measurable public sector impact.

You will own end-to-end deals, forecast accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration to secure executive-level partnerships and growth across government accounts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of sales management experience
• Proven track record leading high-performing sales teams
• Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles
• Strong leadership in recruiting, hiring, coaching
• Experience engaging executive stakeholders and decision-makers
• Deep understanding of the public sector landscape
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Ability to travel up to 50 percent

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a high-performing regional sales team to exceed revenue targets and drive consistent growth across state and local government accounts
• Develop and execute regional sales strategies that expand market share, increase new logo acquisition, and accelerate customer expansion and platform adoption
• Own accurate forecasting and pipeline management to ensure predictable revenue outcomes and strong business performance
• Partner with senior executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align strategy and deliver high-impact customer outcomes
• Drive complex, enterprise-level sales cycles from strategy through close, ensuring alignment with customer needs and long-term value creation
• Build and strengthen executive-level relationships with government agencies to influence strategic initiatives and long-term partnerships
• Coach, develop, and mentor sales professionals to elevate performance, strengthen capabilities, and build future leaders
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities within CCaaS, digital engagement, and AI to position Genesys as a trusted innovation partner
