Job summary

Zaddy Solutions seeks an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization to lead engagements, mentor staff, and expand client relationships. The role reports to partners and balances billable work with practice development responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting with a minimum of 2 years in a senior management position.
• Experience in audits of state and local governments (cities, counties, special districts, charter schools, etc.).
• Ability to travel to client and firm office locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience conducting audits in accordance with GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS and the Uniform Guidance.
• Exposure to not-for-profit organization audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year and builds strong client relationships.
• Either assumes the role of engagement partner or reports to the engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions as a representative of the firm when assigned the role of engagement partner.
• Oversees all phases of reporting to an engagement partner and ensures deliverables comply with framework and firm policy.
• Apprises the engagement Partner of important developments and resolves issues after partner consultation.
• Responsible for ensuring engagements are properly scheduled.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in government sector.
• Ensures billing and collection practices are executed by engagement teams.
• Supervises staff and provides on-the-job training; reviews work papers and reports.
• Plays a pivotal role in staff performance evaluations and coaching.
• Involved in recruitment and interviews Assurance and Advisory candidates.
• Acts as a representative in business development; develops a network of contacts to generate business.
• Leads prospective client leads, communicates with clients, estimates fees, and attends meetings.
• Maintains compliance with all Firm-wide policies and procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field

CPA license
