Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting with 2+ years in a senior manager role and significant public sector audit experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• CPA license in good standing.
• Ability to travel to client and firm locations.
• Proven ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience auditing in line with GAAS, Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance.
• Compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
• Ability to direct, review and train staff.
• Exposure to not-for-profit audits.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients throughout the year and builds strong client relationships.
• Acts as engagement partner or reports to engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions as engagement partner when assigned.
• Oversees all phases of engagement reporting and ensures compliance with accounting framework and firm policy.
• Notifies engagement Partner of important developments and addresses issues with partner input.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled.
• Serves as SME for governmental sector.
• Ensures billing and collections are done per firm policy.
• Supervises staff and provides on-the-job training; reviews work papers and reports.
• Contributes to staff performance evaluations and counseling.
• Participates in staff recruitment and interviews for Assurance/Advisory roles.
• Leads prospective client outreach, initial communications, fee estimates, and meetings.
• Maintains compliance with all Firm-wide policies.
