Progressive regonal CPA firm is seeking an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization for a fast track to Partnership. The role offers a hybrid work environment and relocation assistance to support the ideal candidate.

As the liaison between the Partner, clients, and staff, you will manage multiple audit engagements, develop staff, and contribute to business development within the government practice.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years' experience in public accounting
• Minimum 2 years in a senior manager position
• Significant experience with public sector audits
• CPA license
• Willingness to travel to client sites and offices
• Ability to train and develop staff
• Experience with GAAS, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance

Responsabilités

• Manage multiple audits of state and local governments and related engagements
• Lead engagement teams and coordinate partner involvement
• Sign audit reports and ensure deliverables meet accounting standards and firm policies
• Develop staff through training and performance feedback
• Cultivate client relationships and identify new business opportunities
• Ensure timely scheduling, staffing, and workflow for engagements
• Serve as subject-matter expert for governmental sector engagements
• Supervise staff and review work papers and reports
• Oversee billing and collections as per firm policy
• Travel to client sites and firm offices as needed
