Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary: $70,000
Binghamton University seeks a team-oriented individual to join thePresident's Office staff. We are looking for an individual witheffective communication, writing and organizational skills, who hasexperience with higher ed and/or government operations at the stateand local level. This individual will assist the chief of staff anddirector of government relations with work involving state policiesand practices impacting higher education. In this capacity, theindividual must be able to track, monitor and summarize keydevelopments in state education policy development and be able toresearch issues and share with staff the potential impacts tocampus. The ideal candidate will have experience working in highereducation and have interacted with government entities or haveworked at the state or local government level dealing with highereducation-related issues.
As part of their administrative responsibilities, the successfulcandidate must also be able to be able to manage SUNY and campusadministrative tasks as well as have event planning relatedresponsibilities in order to assist both the Chief of Staff andCommencement & Events Director. The individual should be ableto demonstrate a successful track record for project management,building relationships, effective analytical skills and be able tocommunicate with a range of constituencies both on campus andbeyond.
This is an in-person position. At times will work non-traditionalhours including nights and weekend. Some travel is required, mostlyto Albany.
